OUR WORKS

The IPB Centre for Applied Research in Nature-based Solutions (I-CAN) is a multidisciplinary hub based at IPB University’s Faculty of Forestry & Environment. I-CAN is dedicated to transforming Indonesia’s forest economies by shifting the national paradigm from extractive forestry to productive, equitable, and climate-smart landscapes. Our work is anchored in key policies like Social Forestry (Perhutanan Sosial) through Multipurpose Business Forestry (MUK).

Not just a research center; I-CAN is established to be co-creators of change, through designing, piloting, and scaling Nature-based Solutions (NbS) alongside forest communities, an approach that defines our three main pillars of work:

We conduct high-quality, field-based research to develop impactful, gender-equitable NbS. Our “living labs” create and test innovations that directly address landscape challenges and community priorities.

USULKAN INISIATIF PENELITIAN
